Schilpario celebrating the World Cup finals: Edoardo Frau wants to give the national team another joy

Everything is ready in the Bergamo area: from 12 to 15 September the decisive races for the assignment of crystal balls.

The grass skiing World Cup is decided on the Italian slopes, with Schilpario hosting a four-day final that could give the national team another great joy. Yes, because after the two world titles obtained in Marbachegg in the month of August, Edoardo Frau goes in search of that she would be his seventh "coppone": at 39, the champion from Veneto (who has been living in the Aosta Valley for years ) dreams of another company, despite having to recover 70 points to the leader Martin Bartak, who leads the general ranking with 840 lengths. Several podium chances also for the other blue Lorenzo Gritti who, sailing in 3rd position, has a good advantage over the direct pursuer Stefan Portmann. Filippo Zamboni, currently ninth, will try to close in the top ten. The duel between Frau and Bartak will be repeated also for the supergiant cup, where two races are scheduled: Bartak can manage a margin of 40 lengths on the athlete born in Asiago, favored instead in the super combined thanks to the 200 points scored up to this point (the Czech is stopped at an altitude of 130). Already certain of the slalom cup Lorenzo Gritti: the Bergamo player has 300 points, almost twice as much as Frau who must defend the position from the assault of the Swiss Mirko Hueppi. In the success giant assured for Bartak. Among women, the great expectation is all for Antonella Manzoni who will try to finish immediately behind Jacqueline Gerlach in the general classification. The Austrian has already filed the victory thanks to over a thousand points accumulated in the other stages while the Lecco, at an altitude of 620, will play with Alena Vesela, with whom she shares the second position. Margherita Mazzoncini's season is also very positive, as she will want to keep a good sixth place. In the rankings of the other specialties, Manzoni still stands out, always on the provisional podium with the exception of the slalom, which sees it fourth at 20 points away from Vesela. Excellent third places momentary in supergiant and super combined (respectively with 55 and 45 lengths on the pursuers), it goes even better in the giant, where the 39 year old from Parlasco is second at 250 points.
