Sunny day, twenty-five degrees and temperature made even more pleasant by a light wind. Conditions that, added to the excellent asphalt, proved to be perfect for the athletes involved in the Cascina Bianca stage of the Italian Cup of roller skis, which took place on Sunday morning in Grondona, in the province of Alessandria.
The competition, also valid as 12th Memorial Cochis, was organized by the Serravalle Scrivia Ski Club, led by Vincenzo La Camera, race director, who received the compliments of the competitive director of the Italian roller ski Michel Rainer: " the experience and competence in the organization of these competitions is noted ”. The athletes challenged each other in an individual time trial uphill classic technique.
In the men's 7.2 km, Michael Galassi (SC Orsago) confirmed himself to be the most fit in this race format, imposing himself with a 3 ”5 advantage over a growing Matteo Tanel (Team Robinson) ready to start for the Norway, where next week will take part in the Blinkfestivalen. On the third step of the podium was Riccardo Lorenzo Masiero (SC Valdobbiadene), 29 ”behind and good at keeping Luca Curti (Orsago) behind. To report the very good performance of Gabriele Rigaudo (Entracque Alpi Marittime), born in 2004, finished seventh.
Among the women success for Elisa Sordello (Entracque Alpi Marittime). The Piedmontese, born in 2000, fresh from a week of heavy training with the Italian national team in Anterselva, in preparation for the World Cup stages scheduled from the end of August, has regulated the excellent Paola with a 32 ”7 advantage. Beri (Nordik Ski Valsassina), always protagonist in this competition format. Third place for the young 2005 Anna Maria Ghiddi (Olimpic Lama), already on the podium also in the Junior World Cup.
Gabriele Rigaudo also imposed himself in the special youth ranking, ahead of Giovanni Lorenzetti (US Carisolo) and Marco Gaudenzio (SC Orsago). Ghiddi instead won the women's one over Camilla Crippa (Team Brianza) and Laura Mortagna (Fiamme Oro).
