A dream evening for the blue roller ski, the one experienced in Madona in the third and penultimate day of competitions for the World Cup appointment, which is also valid as a world championship for the junior category.
Beautiful victory of Emanuele Becchis in the sprint in free technique that saw the world champion return to success in the cup with a real domination since, after having already signed the best time in qualifying, in the final there was no story against the host Raimo Vigants, while the Norwegian Jostein Olafsen finished in third place, relegating the other Latvian Niks Saulitis to fourth place.
Good 6th for Tommaso Dellagiacoma, already on the podium yesterday in the sprint team, while Matteo Tanel finished ninth, Riccardo Masiero eleventh and Michael Galassi eighteenth. In the general classification of CdM, the Norwegian Amund Korsaeth leads with 422 points ahead of Tanel with 343.
In the women's race at senior level, another blue podium thanks to Elisa Sordello, third behind the Swedish Jackline Lockner and the Latvian Kitija Auzina. In the overall standings, Linn Soemskar commands solidly (despite his absence in Madona) with 460 points, Sordello has 275.
Then here are the triumphs of the national team at the junior Sprint level: in the men's one, also valid for the world championships in the category, Aksel Artusi finished 4th and Riccardo Munari 5th (Lorenzetti 12th, Gaudenzio 15th), both behind to the Lithuanian Lauris Kaparkaelis who beat the Swedes Anton Grahn and Jonatan Lindberg to complete the podium, but in the women's race here are two blue on the podium with the triumph of Sabrina Borettaz, who beat the Latvian Samanta Krampe, and the bronze conquered by Anna Maria Ghiddi, who is experiencing a dream season.
On Sunday the last races of the program on Latvian soil, with a female 15 km and a male 20 km in free technique.
