In Latvia the third stage of the World Cup, but also the first races of the world championships for the youngest. The Modenese is silver in the women's 7.5 km (and flies to the top of the category cup), Aksel Artusi again on the podium with the bronze in the men's 10 km.

A great departure for roller skis in Italy in Madona. Not only the results of the senior national team at the World Cup level, given that in the Latvian locality a good block of races is expected until Sunday for the third round of the maximum circuit, but also and above all for the results obtained by the Azzurri in the first day of the junior world championships. Double medal for the national team, starting with the splendid silver won by Anna Maria Ghiddi, on the fourth consecutive podium in the cup (the races are also valid for the category circuit); the 17-year-old from Emilia finished second in the women's 7.5 km in classic technique, reaching the finish line with a delay of just one tenth of the winner, the Estonian Gerda Kivil, who finished the course with a time of 20 '' 39 "4, while the hostess Samanta Krampe placed third at 10" 7. Also present at the start was Sabrina Borettaz, who finished in twentieth place with a delay of 3''52 ”8. Thanks to this placement, Ghiddi climbs to the command of the general classification of CdM with 425 points ahead of Krampe with 376, third place for the Norwegian Milla Andreassen with 280 points. The men's race over the 10 km distance brought Aksel Artusi to the podium of a World Championship. The eighteen year old from Primaluna, who in the 2021 edition had collected two silvers and a bronze in Val di Fiemme, finished in third place at 23 "1 from the Swedish Anton Grahn (total time of 22''53" 5), who preceded by 8 ”5 the team mate Malte Jutterdal. Fourth place for the other blue Gabriele Rigaudo at 29 "9, while Giovanni Lorenzetti finished tenth at 1''00" 2 and Marco Gaudenzio twelfth at 1''03 "2. The general classification of the World Cup sees Grahn extend to the top with 340 points, followed by Jutterdal with 316 and Artusi with 290. Friday 26 August it will be the turn of the sprint teams as regards also the youngest ones. At the senior level, the first of the races of the World Cup round gave Italy another podium. Elisa Sordello ranked third in the 10 km in classic technique, with the 22-year-old from Cuneo who crossed the finish line with a delay of 30 "8 from the Estonian Kaidy Kaasiku, who set the time of 27" 15 " 0 with which he preceded his twin Keidy by 14 ”5. For Sordello this is the second career podium in the maximum circuit, after Tartu's third place obtained last year. In the general classification, the absent Linn Soemskar leads with 460 points ahead of Keidy Kaasiku with 220 and the same Sordello with 215 points.
