Next weekend Trento and Monte Bondone will be tinged with the tricolor with the two days of the national roller ski championships.
With the sprint challenge in the Albere district on Saturday 8th and the uphill mass start competition between Candriai and Vason on Sunday 9th, the absolute Italian titles, youngsters, children and masters will be awarded. Double event in a single event that was presented at the Sala Rusconi in the headquarters of Coni Trentino by the staff of Team Futura, chaired by Andrea Buttaboni, with Silvano Berlanda in the role of race director. The press conference was enhanced by the president of Coni Trento Paola Mora, the councilor for sport of the Municipality of Trento Salvatore Panetta, the president of Fisi del Trentino, Tiziano Mellarini, then for the Apt Trento, Monte Bondone Michel Floriani, as well as the sole director of the main sponsor Grafiche Futura Enrico Coser and the two former athletes, now in the role of managers: Alessio Berlanda, who will participate in the sprint race, now coach of the Trentino youth team, and Bruno Debertolis, responsible for the roller skis for Fisi del Trentino.
After having hosted the World Cup five times, the city of the Council therefore returns to play the role of home of the roller ski. The initial federal calendar in fact provided that only the uphill competition was valid as an Italian Championship race, while the Saturday sprint had been included in the Italian Cup calendar. In recent days, however, via the technical director Michel Rainer, the communication of the resignation by the Val di Resia, which had planned the event on 25 September, election day, and therefore was requested to the Trentino association to recover the tricolor event.
Said and done. The Trentino association, in collaboration with the Apt Trento and Monte Bondone, are thus ready to welcome athletes from all over Italy, starting with the king of sprint Emanuele Becchis and the promising young Trentino Michele Valerio, then the specialists of long races Matteo Tanel , winner of absolute World Cups, the Fiemme Tommaso Dellagiacoma, the Venetian Riccardo Masiero, and, among the young, the promising Livigno Aksel Artusi and the two from Trentino Giovanni Lorenzetti and Carlo Cantal.
On the home track there will be the Trentino from Villazzano, Alessio Berlanda, winner of three world titles, and now engaged with the Trentino Committee to nurture young talents, therefore Lorenzo Busin, Christian Lorenzi and Francesco Ferrari. In the women's field, the sisters Lisa and Anna Bolzan will wear the bib and in the vertical challenge, the expert Paola Beri, who has already won several times at the finish line in Vason, will be eyeing. The absolute competitions will also include senior and master athletes from the three Trentino associations taking part in the international Ski Classics circuit, namely Team Futura Trentino Dolomiten Trauma Clinic, Team Internorm Alpenplus Trentino and Team Robinson Trentino.
The program includes the start of the sprint races at 3.00 pm on Saturday 8 October, with the very young and children categories competing, as well as the young, senior and masters, over the distance of 150 meters in free technique. On Sunday morning, on the other hand, the challenges on various distances will take place with a mass start in classic technique. The arrival will be located in Vason, while the departures will be in the valley. At 10.00 it will be the turn of the under 10 on the 1,000 meter distance, at 10.05 the under 12 on the 2000 meters, at 10.10 the under 14, who will face 3 km. The under 16 categories, therefore young, senior and female masters, will start at 10.20 from Vaneze, challenging themselves on a 5.500 meter track, while at 10.30 the most awaited challenge for young, senior and male masters from Candriai to Vason is scheduled. , over the distance of 9 km.
As for the logistical aspects, on Saturday morning from 8.00 a stop in Corso del Lavoro e della Scienza in Trento is prohibited, with the road closing from 13 to 18. On Sunday morning the stretch of road from Candriai to Vason will be closed from 9.00. at 12.00.
