Deleted Lillehammer race for too windy

The race taking place this afternoon on Lysgårdsbakken Lillehammer took a course very troubled and was finally removed after the jump of 26 athletes.

Originally scheduled at 17, it has been postponed by half an hour because of too much wind. Game then at 17.30, for the first athletes were presented optimal weather conditions, with good head wind. After fifteen jumps, including those blues Insam Alex and David Bresadola, the wind got up, going past the front meter. Within minutes this went even to increase, up to the excellent jump of Markus Schiffner, landed at 137.5m with 1.5 m / s. Since that time the conditions were complicated, however, because the wind began to blow across, forcing the race direction to perform many minutes to wait between the jump of an athlete other. At this juncture, they found complex performance athletes of the caliber of Gregor Schlierenzauer and Simon Ammann, not really the last of the class. It is even seen the excellent performance of Stefan Hula, also to 137.5m, though supported by even 2 meters of wind. The jump, however, was followed by that of Jernej Damjan, who was in danger of tipping over in flight after being released from the tooth in a totally uncoordinated, he went to collect 0 points with 75 m achieved. It was thus held a jury meeting at 18:40, where it is then decided for the cancellation of the competition. Surely, in addition to adverse weather conditions, they have weighed on the decision of the Raw Air tight times. In fact tomorrow is scheduled at 17:30 the qualification in Trondheim, that is 350 km. Namely that the jumpers will face a 5 hour bus between tonight and tomorrow morning, for then being presented in pole starting at 15 for training. These deadlines have thus prevented the attempt to wait an improvement of weather and also make almost nil the possibility of a recovery in progress Raw Air. It remains the regret especially for Bresadola, able to find a great leap from 126.5m in conditions "normal". Blue would have easily had access to the second round, where he could pick up a good result.
