Innsbruck will be the third leg of Vierschanzentournee for the sixty time. Exceptions four editions: the fifth (1956-1957), in the tenth (1961-1962) and nell''undicesima (1962-1963) was the second round, while in the twentieth (1971-1972) he played the role of one-off event inaugural.

HISTORY The Bergiselschanze takes its name from the hill overlooking the southern part of the capital of Tyrol, precisely the bergisel. Among the Four Hills of Vierschanzentournee is the one with the richest history of major events, but also more troubled and even more tragic (albeit for reasons unrelated to the ski jumping).
In Innsbruck the first trampoline was built in anticipation of the Nordic World Ski Championships 1933. The facility, however, it fell into disuse soon after the end of the event.
In 1941, during a youth soccer tournament, the players of the teams Villingen SV and SV Innsbruck visited the now dilapidated structure. Unfortunately there was a collapse, which caused four deaths and several wounded. The tragedy prompted him to totally demolish what remained of the building.
After the second world war it was decided to re-erect the plant following the same project in 1930. This second Bergiselschanze was short-lived, as was demolished and replaced by a more modern trampoline in view of the Winter Olympic Games of 1964.
The Olympics were then hosted by Innsbruck also in 1976, while in 1985 the city was the theater of the race on the Large Hill Nordic Skiing World nominally assigned to Seefeld.
In December of 1999 the site was the scene of another tragedy. At the end of a performance of a disproportionate snowboard crowd he merged into one of the stadium exits and you came to create chaos. Five girls, all between 14 and 21 years, died crushed in a stampede. Other spectators were seriously injured falling over a cliff because of the failure of a safety net now antiquated.
The complex was the scene of yet another restructuring at the beginning of the XXI century to worthily celebrate the fiftieth edition of the Tour, took the current shape (K120 / HS130) and especially becoming one of the symbols of the city of Innsbruck with its unique architecture in the shape snake. Therefore, among the Four Hills Tour of the Bergiselschanze it was the scene of the highest number of away games at the event where medals were awarded. There are in fact two editions of the Olympic Games and 2 of the Nordic Ski World Championships, with the third coming in 2019.
Curiously, however, it is both the trampoline to have hosted the smallest number of valid competitions for Vierschanzentournee because in January 2008 the 'event was canceled - and recovered in Bischofshofen - Hampered by bad weather conditions.
 IMPACT ON TOUR On 31 occasions (49.2%) who has prevailed in Tyrol was then awarded success in Tournèe, while in 50 cases (79.4%) cases the final victory went to an athlete on the podium.
This means that Innsbruck is the stage where the winner has the highest success rate in the general classification of the Tour.
The recent trend confirmation or even further increases the importance of Bergiselschanze. If we look at the last decade who has excelled in Innsbruck then he won the Tour five times (55.6%), while in 7 years to 9 (77.8%) the winner was one of the athletes are able to close the top- three.
It must be said that often in the twenty-first century this race proved to be the cornerstone of the Tour, because often addressed in a decisive manner the general classification to a particular athlete.
WINNERS So far 51 different jumpers representing 11 different movements have obtained at least one success on Mount Isel.
The Norwegian Bjørn Wirkola (1967, 1969, 1970), the Finn Matti Nykänen (1983, 1985, 1988), the 'Austrian Andreas Goldberger (1993, 1994, 1996) and the Japanese Kazuyoshi Funaki (1995, 1997, 1998) won three victories apiece.
Are 6 men managed to repeat a success. These are the Finns Jari Puikkonen, Ari-Pekka Nikkola and Janne Ahonen; dell''austriaco Gregor Schlierenzauer; German Helmut Recknagel and Norwegian For Bergerud.

 Despite the now chronic crises, Finland remains the most successful nation ever on Bergiselschanze. It goes even remarked how the only successful sinivalkoinen in the World Cup from 2011 to today has arrived right here, albeit in an extremely eventful, thanks to Anssi Koivuranta in 2014. That claim has allowed the movement suomalainen solitary return to the list command absolute:

Although the races are 63, 65 are accredited successes. This is because there are two ex aequo. The first dated in 1956 with the Soviet and East German Koba Zakazde Harry Glaß. The second in 1982 with the Norwegian For Bergerud and the East German Manfred Deckert.
* It should be noted how the Soviet successes in this case can not be fully assimilated in their Russians by virtue of the aforementioned victory Zakadze, athlete through and through Georgian, independent nation today, but at that time part of the USSR.
SERIES On 6 occasions the same nation has achieved two goals by placing two athletes in the top two. The last five years ago when the Austrians Andreas Kofler and Gregor Schlierenzauer closed first and second respectively. The movement that has raised more podiums is Germany (40), however, divided between East Germany, West Germany and unified Germany. Therefore, if we talk about nations, Austria is the one with most placings in the top three, having won 38. Following the complete list:

RECORD The official record of the pad is held by Austrian Stefan Kraft, landed 137 meters (seven more than the 'Hs) January 4, 2015.
