From Norway comes news of the premature death of former skipper Morten Ã…gheim, on the crest of the wave of discipline in the late 1990s.

The Scandinavian would have been 37 years old on July 20, but failed on Thursday, June 8th. However, the funeral was only eight days later. Ignotes the causes of the death of the former athlete, leaving a companion and three children.
In the field of his career, Ã…gheim has picked up nine places in the top-ten in the World Cup. His best result is a 4th place in Harrachov in December 1998, when - in a race won by Janne Ahonen ahead of Noriaki Kasai - missed the lowest step of the podium for just 1.2 points.
He retired still very young in 2002, after a couple of difficult seasons in the results.
