Karl Geiger commands after two series, Giovanni Bresadola still amazes

The German is in the lead after mid-race. Tomorrow at 16:00 the last two jumping series that will award the medals are scheduled. After an excellent qualification, Giovanni Bresadola was able to raise the bar once again, finishing 25th at the end.

The blue in the first series was superlative and with complicated windy conditions he touched 200m, finishing in 18th place. In the second act he then improved the measure, landing at 202 m but losing some positions. Tomorrow he will still have the opportunity to be the protagonist again and improve his personal best. Alex Insam, who had already hit the minimum target in yesterday's qualifying, finished 40th. In the first series Karl Geiger and Michael Hayboeck managed to cross the 240m mark and achieved the best scores. The German, who landed at 241m with a light wind behind him, inflicted a gap of 2.3 points on the Austrian, capable of even reaching 245.5m with more favorable conditions. Behind them came the surprise of Russian Klimov, who preceded the two big favorites of the eve: Granerud and Eisenbichler. The two rulers of the current season, however, have risen in level in the second act and reduced the gap towards the head. In particular, Eisebichler landed at 247 m with a good headwind: an exceptional jump that saw him climb into the sky and then push himself to the best extent of this world championship. However, the German finished in third place, behind his compatriot Geiger, who was able to limit the damage very well, and his rival Granerud, who maintained his position thanks to excellent stylistic evaluations and better compensation. All three are packed into just five points, which is a trifle considering it is a flying competition. Not far from the top (8.3 points) not even Michael Hayboeck, who slipped from 2nd to 4th place in the second series. The Austrian precedes Johansson and Sato in the standings, who however pay fifteen points from the medal zone: a considerable but not insurmountable gap, as well as that of Sato (6th), Zyla (7th) and Stoch (8th) . A very spectacular and very open second part of the race is therefore expected.
