With the opening race in Oberstdorf filed, after the first day of rest, today the Tour has moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where tomorrow afternoon the very classic of the beginning of the year will be staged.

There was no shortage of surprises: as is now customary this morning a positivity to Covid-19 was announced, which in this case affected the young Russian Ilya Mankov. Unlike what happened for the Polish team in Oberstdorf, only teammate Sadreev and a coach were placed in solitary confinement. The other Russian athletes regularly took part in training jumps and qualification.
The excellent exclusion, however, was that of Marius Lindvik, third in the ranking of the Tour of the four trampolines, knocked out by a wisdom tooth, which forced him not to jump and to go to Innsbruck early for a check. The Norwegian, who will therefore not be in the race tomorrow, raises the white flag in the run-up to the golden eagle.
The qualification was won by the Slovenian Anze Lanisek, able with a jump of 139 m to precede Halvor Egner Granerud (143 m) and Markus Eisenbichler by a few tenths. The test was very balanced and eight athletes finished within seven points. Stefan Kraft finished in fourth place ahead of Tournée leader Karl Geiger, Kamil Stoch and Ryoyu Kobayashi. Giovanni Bresadola, 54th, did not pass the cut.
