The 69th edition of the Vierschanzentournée will open on Monday 28 with the qualification for the Oberstdorf race and will continue non-stop until January 6 with the closing of Bischofshofen. In between the stages of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck.

Representing the Italian national team in all four stages there will be Giovanni Bresadola: at the moment leader of the movement and author of an excellent start to the season, in which he achieved good results, in particular at the World Flight Championships in Planica. Alex Insam will instead enter the race in the Austrian stages of Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
In these days the Val Gardena will train with the Austrian coach Andreas Felder in Seefeld (Aut) to find the best condition for the two final stages of the Tour. The women's team will train with him and will resume the World Cup on 22 January in Ljubno. With coach Sebastian Colloredo there will be Martina Ambrosi, Manuela Malsiner, Lara Malsiner and Jessica Malsiner.
During the day also Germany, which in the home stages will be able to field the national contingent, issued the call-outs for the Tour. Still in doubt the presence of Karl Geiger, fresh from the positivity to Covid-19 that forced him to skip the stage of Engelberg. Head coach Stefan Horngacher then called up: Markus Eisenbichler, Severin Freund, Andreas Wellinger, Pius Paschke, Constantin Schmid, David Siegel, Martin Hamann, Richard Freitag, Luca Roth, Moritz Baer and Kilian Märkl.
