It is time for the Italian summer push championships for bobsleighs and skeletons, organized by the Bob Club Cortina on the weekend of 23-24 July on the “Renzo Alverà” pistino in Cortina, which will host the competitions that will award the championships in the two disciplines.
The men will compete in the 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh, while the women will be engaged in the 2-man bobsleigh and the monobob. The skeleton will see the performance of the two single tests.
The program includes free training starting at 15.00 on Saturday, while on Sunday the competitions will take place, starting at 10.00. The Italian championships will be the culminating event of a week of training in nearby Vipiteno, commissioned by the technical director of the national team, Maurizio Oioli, and which sees all the biggest names in the Italian bobsleigh and skeleton as protagonists.
For the bobsleigh present Patrick Baumgartner, Eric Fantazzini, Lorenzo Bilotti, Alex Pagnini, Mattia Variola, Robert Mircea, Jose Obou, Alex Verginer, Enrico Ghilardini, Isalbet Juarez, Mauro Colantoni, Matteo Perin, Giada Andreutti, Tania Vicenzino, Anna Schenk and Giulia Chenet. Among the skeletonists, confirmed the participation of Amedeo Bagnis, Manuel Schwaerzer, Gabriele Marenchino, Pietro Drovanti, Marvin Moscara, Giovanni Marchetti, Giovanni Pontiggia, Mattia Gaspari, Chiara Duzioni, Alessia Crippa, Angel Osakue, Valentina Margaglio and Alessandra Fumagalli.

Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
