Double Blue Masterpiece in Park City! Voetter-Oberhofer sign an encore, Fischnaller burns Loch

Luge World Cup on an artificial track: start of the third stage of a dream for Zoeggeler's national team, with the female duo increasingly leading the general classification and the Olympic bronze medalist returning to victory.

A double masterpiece in the space of a few hours, in the Italian night, on the gut of a blue fiefdom like Park City. The Italian luge celebrates two victories on the same day of the World Cup, as it hasn't happened for almost 9 years, with the women's doubles by Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer that already makes you dream when thinking about the debut of the specialty at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics. A simply stunning start to this adventure for the two blues, on the podium in all the races held (four) and at the second consecutive success after Whistler: in Utah, Andrea and Marion are in absolute domination, increasingly leading the general classification after having triumphed with 6 tenths of a margin over the German Degenhardt/Rosenthal, already distanced at the end of the first descent, and 653 thousandths over the Canadians Nash/Corless. A few hours later, here is the first gem of the season (the eighth in his career, and 40 podiums in CdM) by Dominik Fischnaller in the men's single: the South Tyrolean champion, third in the middle of the race, signed the best time in the 2nd run , burning Felix Loch, fresh from his victory in Canada, by 185 thousandths, with David Gleirscher third at +0”204. And with the 5th place of the other Austrian Wolfgang Kindl, also preceded by Tucker West, Fischnaller is now just 15 points behind Kindl himself, leader of the general classification. Tonight the sprint races will close a two-day event which is already a dream come true for luge Italy.
