In this video, Jam Session tackles one of the most delicate aspects of skiing on steep slopes: managing the steep section of the turn and how to use it correctly to our advantage.

Two problems stand out above all on steep terrain:
the outside ski tending to slide away if the edge grip is not strong
leaning back, caused by fear of the slope
Once again, the solution lies in the concept of losing vertical with the whole body, bringing the shoulders and chest over the downhill foot, rather than leaving the upper body behind.
The exercise proposed is simple and powerful: you enter the turn and, when the tips reach the steep section, you “duck down into a tuck”. Tips down → body down.
This movement:
creates an acceleration of the shoulders towards the fall line
guides you from the gentle slope at the turn entry to the steepest section
brings you to the end of the turn after losing all your vertical, balanced over the outside ski
It is a change in mindset: instead of fearing the steep section, consider it an ally and a source of enjoyment. It is not just about staying perpendicular to the slope, but about consciously accelerating towards the turn exit.
Downhill in acceleration, balanced over the outside ski, speed under control. When this mechanism becomes clear, skiing on steep terrain truly takes on a different character.
