It is a race to see who makes the most corners in a predefined space. Maybe taking as a reference eg. the posts that are on the edge of the track...
The secret lies in setting off at very low speed and reversing direction repeatedly and in the shortest possible space. The help of the support of the pole is decisive here and, if well coordinated, allows us to stay in confined spaces. Obviously you have to be muscularly very reactive at every turn.
Especially on steep terrain, the secret will be to keep the edge grip a lot, making it effective and starting off immediately for the next curve. On steep slopes a robust support of the stick is even more necessary and fundamental to give us the cue at each curve and reset the balance.
