The foot and the edge.

Ski Techniquetechnique

The foot and the edge.

Today we continue to analyze our feet, as always fundamental for our skiing.

When we are on the flat it is relatively easy to change from edge to edge with the feet, once we understand the lateral movement of the ankles and the rotation of the thighs and shins from one side to the other giving directionality to the knees and feeling the edges change . Well ... another thing is to change on the slope, the more the slope will be more accentuated the more difficult it will be. Now let's see how, with this short exercise we will find the right feeling to fix the external foot well to the curve to obtain maximum grip. We position ourselves on a ladder with the feet oriented to the left and gripping the edge. From here we will not only have to make a lateral change of edge but we will also have to go down one or two steps downwards. Follow the path of the left shoulder to note that from the first moment he goes to "search" the "left foot" downwards. By resting the foot we will have to find balance with the shoulder external to the curve which, going down as much as the support foot goes down will help to fix the balance well on the external foot for maximum balance and maximum hold.
