The Regions have updated the health protocol for the opening of the ski lifts at the time scheduled for 15 February. Now the government's ok is awaited.

Today, January 28th, the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces updated and approved its proposal for guidelines for the safe reopening of ski resorts, taking into account the observations presented by the Scientific Technical Committee of last January 15th.
"Obviously the text has a precise reference to the scenarios introduced in the last Dpcm, providing for the closure of the plants of the Regions in the red zone and a 50% quota opening for the Regions falling in the orange zone" declared Giovanni Toti, Vice President of the Conference of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces,
"For the chairlifts - explains Giovanni Tot - the maximum capacity is possible at 100% of the vehicle capacity but the use of the surgical mask is mandatory. This capacity is reduced to 50% if the chairlifts are used with the closing of the windbreak domes. For the gondola lifts, there is a 50% reduction in the maximum capacity of the vehicle and the mandatory use of surgical masks. A similar limit is set for cable cars for both the ascent and descent phases, always providing for the use of a surgical mask. In addition, compared to the previous proposal, we have added the provision of a maximum amount of salable daily ski passes, also considering weekly and seasonal passes with the aim of limiting the maximum number of daily admissions on the ski fields "
"Further clarifications - concludes Giovanni Toti - concern the measures to avoid the aggregation of people, for the management of flows in the larger ski areas that extend beyond the regional borders, with respect to which a close coordination of prevention measures between the neighboring regions. Now we hope for a rapid validation by the Government because the latest Dpcm foresees the reopening of the plants on February 15th and it is necessary to give the managers the necessary time to organize themselves in the face of an unfortunately already compromised season ".
"In the yellow zone the chairlifts will be able to operate at full capacity at 100% of the capacity, while gondola lifts and cable cars at 50% of the capacity, as a closed environment - explains the Councilor for Tourism of the Veneto Region, Federico Caner - In all cases, even in the hypothesis that our Region were to pass in the yellow band -, the reopening will take place taking into account the security measures provided for by the protocol. For example, a maximum number of salable daily sky passes will be set, also considering weekly and seasonal passes. This is to ensure that the maximum number of daily presences on the ski fields can be respected. In addition, the use of the surgical mask will be mandatory ".
During the meeting, the President of the Conference of the Regions and of Emilia Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini also spoke: "As regards the issue of ski resorts and other facilities that are closed today, the national provision needs to change, because there are protocols, new ones have also been drawn up, but at the moment it will not be able to open any plants. If the curve drops, I hope we can see some news as soon as possible. It is useless to deceive people, with these numbers, albeit improved, it is not possible to reopen the plants. However, if vaccinations resume at the pace we expect and therefore we will start again, for example, to prevent those who are most at risk from being hospitalized, with a possibly downward curve, it is clear that in the coming months the risk of going to colored areas would collapse. ".
