The meeting between the Government and the Regions was held this morning to discuss the new decree which will come into force on 4 December. According to some rumors, the decision not to open the ski lifts at Christmas would seem definitive.

No snow holidays at Christmas. Despite the various proposals made by the Alpine regions to save the economy of winter tourism, the Government, working on the new dpcm, remains firm on its position and today, 1 December, reiterated the closure of the ski lifts during the holidays.
"On skiing, the comparison must be made" at European level, the problem is not skiing but all the aggregations and flows of people and therefore the gatherings that derive from it "is the comment of the Minister of Health, Roberto Sperenza, reported by the agency journalistic Adnkronos.
“I reminded the ministers that if we close the ski slopes, they will also close in other countries. Minister Boccia says that the premier is working to ensure that everyone closes, we'll see, ”declared the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia.
Yesterday the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, had already anticipated that, if their latest proposal for the opening of the plants would not be accepted by the Government, the Regions would immediately ask for the closure of national borders, certain refreshments for everything. the tourism sector in relation to the turnover of the same period last year and a certain date for the start of the season.
On this last point, it would seem that the new decree will be valid until January 15 and that therefore, before that date, they will not be able to open other plants. The restrictions also include a ban on travel between Regions.

Dolomiti UNESCO, il bilancio di Banca d'Italia: +9% di pernottamenti senza consumare più territorio
Il paper di Banca d'Italia analizza gli effetti sui flussi turistici e sull'ambiente nei 4 anni successivi all'iscrizione delle Dolomiti nella lista dei Patrimoni Mondiali dell'Umanità, avvenuta nel 2009. A fronte di un incremento delle presenze, il numero di strutture turistiche non è cresciuto e quello di posti letto si è ridotto. Ai maggiori flussi turistici non si è associato né un aumento del consumo di suolo né una maggiore produzione di rifiuti, dimostrando il potenziale del riconoscimento UNESCO nel generare benefici economici locali senza compromettere la qualità ambientale, a condizione che siano in atto un efficace coordinamento istituzionale e solide garanzie normative.
