On the occasion of the launch of the Winter World Master Games Lombardia 2024, the Minister of Tourism has formalized the agreement with the Federation. Here's what it is.

The announcement of the new partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and the Italian Winter Sports Federation has arrived.
Minister Massimo Garavaglia himself officially presented the Winter World Master Games Lombardia 2024 at the headquarters of Palazzo Lombardia in Milan. “We intend to develop the combination of sport and tourism which is in itself very powerful. The mountain needs it and needs a promotion of the territory - said Minister Garavaglia - For this reason we have concluded an agreement with the FISI and I thank the President Flavio Roda for his availability.
We will make available resources, aware of the value of the Federation and its athletes. The mountains cannot live without winter sports ”.
The words of Minister Garavaglia are an award for the whole world of winter sports which has always worked to bring mountain tourism to life. "Athletes, from those in ski clubs to the top of the high level, are the best testimonials of the mountain environment: a healthy environment, where sport is at home - said President Roda - I thank the Minister for his commitment and for the attention paid to the Federation ”.
The Winter World Master Games Lombardia 2024 will bring about 3600 athletes from over 50 nations in 8 clusters of the Lombard valleys. The presentation was attended by the President of the Lombardy Region, Attlio Fontana, the Undersecretary to the Presidency Antonio Rossi, the Councilor of the Ministry of Tourism, Manuela Di Centa, as well as Sergej Bubka, unique champion in the history of pole vaulting and president of the '' Imga.

Dolomiti UNESCO, il bilancio di Banca d'Italia: +9% di pernottamenti senza consumare più territorio
Il paper di Banca d'Italia analizza gli effetti sui flussi turistici e sull'ambiente nei 4 anni successivi all'iscrizione delle Dolomiti nella lista dei Patrimoni Mondiali dell'Umanità, avvenuta nel 2009. A fronte di un incremento delle presenze, il numero di strutture turistiche non è cresciuto e quello di posti letto si è ridotto. Ai maggiori flussi turistici non si è associato né un aumento del consumo di suolo né una maggiore produzione di rifiuti, dimostrando il potenziale del riconoscimento UNESCO nel generare benefici economici locali senza compromettere la qualità ambientale, a condizione che siano in atto un efficace coordinamento istituzionale e solide garanzie normative.
