The rules of the new Dpcm will come into force from 6 March and will be valid until 6 April.

Today the President of the Council of Ministers, Mario Draghi, signed the new Dpcm which confirms the closure of the ski lifts as was already foreseen in the draft of 25 February.
A decision that definitively puts an end to a winter season that has never started and that brings the mountain and white tourism sector to its knees. Already in recent days, ANAF, the National Association of Cable Car Operators, stated in a press release: "It is extremely urgent to activate suitable compensation measures for the damage suffered by cableway companies in favor of the safety and health of all citizens. These measures should be quick, direct and provided in the form of immediately usable capital (other forms such as tax credit or investment incentives are to be avoided), because many operators, after 12 months without revenues, suffer a terrible crisis of liquidity, they are no longer able to resort to bank credit and begin not to be able to meet even current expenses ".
"And also the situation of workers cannot be ignored: both fixed, about 35-40% of the total, for which it will be necessary to provide for the extension of the layoffs, but above all of the 10,000 seasonal workers (which become 90,000 if we evaluate the induced). Currently all these people, mostly resident in the mountain valleys, are deprived of any social safety net or other form of income support. Giving a signal of hope to these families, to avoid a serious social crisis and the loss of important professional skills gained over many years of activity (train drivers, snow groomers pilots, snowmaking system technicians, rescuers, etc.) is a absolute priority ”continues Anef.

Dolomiti UNESCO, il bilancio di Banca d'Italia: +9% di pernottamenti senza consumare più territorio
Il paper di Banca d'Italia analizza gli effetti sui flussi turistici e sull'ambiente nei 4 anni successivi all'iscrizione delle Dolomiti nella lista dei Patrimoni Mondiali dell'Umanità, avvenuta nel 2009. A fronte di un incremento delle presenze, il numero di strutture turistiche non è cresciuto e quello di posti letto si è ridotto. Ai maggiori flussi turistici non si è associato né un aumento del consumo di suolo né una maggiore produzione di rifiuti, dimostrando il potenziale del riconoscimento UNESCO nel generare benefici economici locali senza compromettere la qualità ambientale, a condizione che siano in atto un efficace coordinamento istituzionale e solide garanzie normative.
