Val di Fassa Lift
The President of Anef, Valeria Ghezzi, and the Councilor for Tourism of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Roberto Failoni, spoke to Tgcom24 to talk about the opening of the ski lifts.

The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, signed the ordinance postponing the reopening of the ski facilities to January 18, 2021. Although there is an opening date, the current epidemiological situation is worrying that there are still many uncertainties in the mountain sector. Furthermore, the OK to the health protocol by the Technical Scientific Committee is still missing.
Valeria Ghezzi, President of Anef (National Association of Cable Car Operators) spoke on this issue today: "For cableway companies, all this uncertainty entails the impossibility of real preparation, especially the impossibility of hiring all seasonal workers. We are certainly uncertain of the influxes because this year we do not know how many people will come to ski. In these days the news is also circulating that all of Italy could become the red zone on weekends. For many companies, a hypothesis of this kind could even reduce the convenience of opening. Several stations, in particular those in the Apennines, or those located near the big cities, which do not have hotel facilities, live for Saturdays and Sundays. I think that even in the other ski resorts, closing on the weekend would cause problems from the point of view of arrivals and departures. For the departure it is expected that you can always return to the home, but for arrivals you are forced to arrive on a Friday. And therefore it becomes very difficult to organize. We will try to understand what the Government's decisions will actually be. We are ready to open, we know the rules of the protocol and we will do our best to apply them in the best possible way ".
Roberto Failoni, Councilor for Tourism of the Autonomous Province of Trento also spoke during the broadcast: "Yesterday we received the news that Minister Speranza issued the ordinance with which he established the opening date of the ski lifts on January 18 . I state that in order to restart we need the approval of the Technical Scientific Committee for the health protocol that the Regions re-approved on December 30, accepting the changes suggested by the CTS. So we are waiting to have an answer by January 6 or 7 because the world of snow needs many days to be able to organize itself. But I repeat that prudence is always in the first place, there is great attention to the health aspect. I can guarantee we're even better organized than stations like Aspen. Our biggest concern is any restrictions such as travel bans. Here there is a great desire to be able to work. We are clamoring for significant refreshments. We expect clear and certain answers from the Government because the mountain world cannot be abandoned in any way ".
Roberto Failoni also pointed out how the health aspect is fundamental for Trentino and how Councilor Stefania Segnana, the Health Authority and the entire health department have been working for months on the vaccination plan. At 12.00 today, the Autonomous Province of Trento was at the top in Italy for the administration of anti Covid-19 vaccines with 2405 doses administered out of 4975 doses available (48.3%).
