Valle d'Aosta in the orange zone and the limitation to day skipasses takes effect: the situation in the various locations

The decision of the regional council: we want to avoid queues at the lifts, the numbers based on the characteristics of each ski resort.

The Aosta Valley has ended up in the orange zone and here comes an important decision regarding the sale of day skipasses in the localities of the region. The attendance quota protocol was approved, introducing "a maximum limit of salable travel tickets, determined on the basis of the characteristics of the station", the regional administration announced today. The maximum number of skiers allowed in the 17 Valle d'Aosta ski areas is 56,752 per day; it therefore ranges from 199 in Ollomont to 11,223 in Cervinia / Cime Bianche, passing through 6,401 in Pila, 6,942 in Courmayeur, 8,399 in La Thuile and 9,014 in Monterosa Ski. The goal is not to generate significant queues at the start of the lifts throughout the day. "The maximum number of salable daily skipasses - says the Region - must take into account not only the daily quotas, but also the weekly and seasonal ones". For this reason, last week the calculation criteria were agreed with the Valle d'Aosta Local Health Authority and the representatives of the category and of the accommodation facilities were heard, as required by the ordinance. The regional ticketing management system, starting from the indicated limit, counts all reservations and monitors accesses, avoiding the overcoming of the number of presences. Each user who intends to ski in the area must therefore make a reservation.
