The hateful anticyclone that has dominated the scene in recent months has the hours numbered. An area of low pressure on the Scandinavian sector is starting to suck very cold air directly from the Arctic circle and will lead a winter offensive across the Alps. It starts with snow on Wednesday, although, according to meteorologists by 3BMeteo, it is not yet defined where it will snow the most and where it will snow least.

The distribution of precipitation and its intensity will be linked to the position of the low pressure vortex that will form following the arrival of cold air over the Mediterranean. A very vast vortex that, according to the models, on Thursday will be able to encompass France, the central Mediterranean, Italy, Germany and the Balkans.
Snowfalls will initially be relegated to medium-high altitudes, as a mild and humid perturbed component will prevail, but a lowering of the snow level is expected as the weekend approaches.
In the first weekend of April it could be really cold, with temperatures well below the seasonal average, even 6-8 degrees in the Center-North and snow level that could drop well below 1000 meters.

NOAA: torna El Niño, come potrebbe influenzare l'inverno 2026-2027 sulle Alpi?
La NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) ha pubblicato il 9 luglio il nuovo aggiornamento sul fenomeno climatico ENSO (El Niño-Southern Oscillation), confermando che El Niño è ormai in pieno sviluppo e che continuerà a rafforzarsi nei prossimi mesi. Secondo i climatologi statunitensi, il fenomeno dovrebbe raggiungere il proprio massimo proprio durante l'inverno boreale 2026-2027, con una probabilità del 97% di persistere fino alla primavera 2027 e con possibilità sempre più elevate di raggiungere un'intensità tra le più elevate osservate dal 1950.
