Snow flakes in the Ahrntal Valley and in the next few hours snow also in the Apennines.

A front coming from the Arctic crossed the Alps and this night brought some snowflakes to the Ahrntal valley starting from 1000 meters in height. At the moment the Brenner has not been affected by snow and therefore traffic is regular.
In the next few hours, the cold air will also bring a drop in temperatures to the Apennines, in particular Abruzzo and Molise, which will favor snowfalls above 1300/1500 meters. Already yesterday, 12 October, the Passo Lanciano ski area was hit by heavy snow and strong gusts of wind with temperatures falling below zero above 2000 meters.
In the night between Sunday and Monday some snowflakes fell also in Sila, in Calabria, where the weather will be unstable in the coming days.

El Niño si rafforza: sale al 75% la probabilità di un evento storico nell’inverno 2026/2027
Il nuovo aggiornamento della NOAA conferma un ulteriore rafforzamento di El Niño. Per il trimestre ottobre-dicembre sale dal 69 al 75% la probabilità che il fenomeno raggiunga un’intensità mai osservata nella serie storica iniziata nel 1950. Uno scenario che dobbiamo monitorare per capire gli scenari possibili per l’inverno 2026/2027.
