Winter returns, even if only for a short time. Snow down to the plane

"Winter is gone" is the impression of all these days, but the weather has a surprise in store for the final part of February. Finally on Wednesday and Thursday a little snow will fall again on our mountains, even widespread and up to low altitude.

As reported by 3BMeteo will be a fairly fast front that will complete its evolution between Ash Wednesday and Thursday, then rapidly evolving towards the Balkan area and promptly replaced by a new high pressure comeback. Lowering temperatures will encourage the return of snow to the mountains and beyond, snowfalls will also be possible at medium and low hills. The "white lady" should make its appearance on Wednesday 26 February first in the Alps, especially the border sectors up to below 500 meters above sea level, and then also in the central and southern regions. And it is the Apennines that it could benefit from the most abundant rainfall with snowflakes that could drop to 700 meters above sea level on Lazio, Abruzzo, Marche, Campania. Thursday possible dusting on the Calabrian hills, while an improvement can already be made in the Alps. Between February 29 but especially March 1, the first disturbance of the new month should pass, this too is announced as very rapid, but it could be followed by a second more intense one between 3 and 4 March. In short, the month of March seems to open with the intention of giving space to winter.

NOAA: torna El Niño, come potrebbe influenzare l'inverno 2026-2027 sulle Alpi?
