The spectacle of nature offers us today this veritable "river snow", taken on ski Nordkette to Höttinger Alm, the Tyrolean Alps that surround Innsbruck. This is not an avalanche, but a huge amount of snow that slowly slips into the valley, creating a sort of snowy river: the mass of snow rolling down the mountainside and gives rise to a real river.

The rushing river of snow goes to block access to a road, as we can appreciate in the video, which was taken by some operators of ski facilities in the area.
It is a natural phenomenon that often occurs late in the season, well known among the frequenters of the mountain, in this case accentuated by the rise in temperature due to abundant rainfall. What is really unusual is ; the period in which these phenomena occur, in June rather than in the second half of April.

El Niño si rafforza: sale al 75% la probabilità di un evento storico nell’inverno 2026/2027
Il nuovo aggiornamento della NOAA conferma un ulteriore rafforzamento di El Niño. Per il trimestre ottobre-dicembre sale dal 69 al 75% la probabilità che il fenomeno raggiunga un’intensità mai osservata nella serie storica iniziata nel 1950. Uno scenario che dobbiamo monitorare per capire gli scenari possibili per l’inverno 2026/2027.
