The CdM show of skicross in San Candido: FIS inspection ok and changes to the track

On 19-20 December the now classic appointment on the "Baranci". The race director, the former blue Kurt Sulzenbacher, is already working for the 12th consecutive edition.

We will also see in the 2020/21 season the spectacle of the World Cup skicross in that of San Candido. The South Tyrolean weekend is now traditional of the maximum circuit for Klotz and his companions, with the appointment set for next December 19-20 which will be worth as the twelfth consecutive edition of the appointment, a year after the miracle of 2019 when the organizers succeeded to guarantee a race in very difficult conditions in terms of temperatures in that period (remember the cancellations between alpine skiing and snowboarding, in Val Gardena and Carezza?). A delegation from FIS, made up of Uwe Beier, Christian Cretier and the new ski director of the ski cross, Klaus Waldner, carried out the traditional summer inspection on the Baranci slope; with them the track builder Andreas Silbernagl and the race director Kurt Sulzenbacher, with whom the possible changes to the race course in the area of the 3 Peaks in the Dolomites were discussed. A splendid classic pre-Christmas that Gabriel Fauster, of the WSV Innichen organizing association, presents as follows: “During the inspection we decided to build two new elements on the track. This could make the races even more attractive: the changes are the result of many years of collaboration with our partners F-Tech, Prinoth, Leitner and Technoalpin, all excellent South Tyrolean companies that apply their technical know-how immediately also in sports high level". With regard to the issues related to Covid-19, a "medical plan" has been defined alongside which there will also be a "crown plan", an aid for the organizers in case they find themselves forced to react to possible cases of contagion during their event. "It is good that all possible scenarios are simulated - Fauster explains - Of course we hope to be able to carry out our event without complications".
