The technical director of the blue skicross, Bartolomeo Pala, has summoned thirteen athletes from the World Cup and European Cup group, for a rally on the track that will take place, from Monday 26 to Friday 30 September, on the Stelvio glacier.
Present Simone Deromedis, Dominik Zuech, Giacomo Dalmasso, Aiace Smaldore, Andrea Chesi, Federico Tomasoni, Edoardo Zorzi, Simone Cavallar, Rebecca Paoli, Yanick Gunsch, Filippo Zamboni, Jannes Debertol and Jole Galli. To direct the works the same dt Pala, assisted by Siegmar Klotz, Dario Dellantonio, Andrea Tonon, Kevin Marchetto, Alessandro Leso and Matteo Bosisio.
Meanwhile, there is no good news for the next World Cup in Italy, with the renunciation of the new stage that should have been played, from 27 to 29 December, in Alleghe. The organization asked and obtained from the FIS to cancel the event, given that the energy crisis would lead to unsustainable costs of snow production and management of the race. All efforts are concentrated to prepare the slopes, in the Ski Civetta area, for the upcoming holidays.
The Organizing Committee of the Alleghe Skicross World Cup has decided for fairness to inform the FIS in good time of the decision, despite itself, to cancel the races. The difficult and unpredictable energy situation that arose as a result of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia with the consequent well-known sanctions, advised to concentrate the efforts of the managers of the Venetian reality on the preparation of the slopes for tourist-sport skiing and not competitive. The construction of the ski cross track would involve a large production of programmed snow and ad hoc works for the track from the first days of December.
Snow production and management costs have already risen, and it is not yet known how much they will increase. Thus, to safeguard the activity of the many tourists expected on the Alleghe slopes, it was decided to decline the FIS invitation for 2022, moving the objectives to 2023, and to better prepare for the season by guaranteeing, as usual, slopes in perfect conditions for everyone, throughout the ski area. Just a few days ago the general secretary of the International Federation, Michel Vion, had warned that the FIS expects more than a cancellation of World Cup events (among the various disciplines), due to problems related to energy costs and availability of water.
