Italy’s skicross team selections for La Parva officially announced: national team in South America until September 28 with all its big names

The World Cup group leaves for Chile today: more than three weeks of training for Deromedis, Tomasoni, Galli and teammates ahead of the new season, which gets underway in December in Val Thorens.

Everything is ready for the Italian skicross team’s South American trip as well.

The destination is La Parva, like the alpine skiing speed specialists, for 25 days in Chile: the team’s big names, called up by technical director Bartolomeo Pala, will return on September 28. The squad includes Olympic champion Simone Deromedis; Federico Tomasoni, the silver medallist on that magical day in Livigno—and later a first-time World Cup winner at Craigleith; fellow Bergamo native Edoardo Zorzi, coming off a season of his first podium finishes; as well as Dominik Zuech, Filippo Rossi, Paolo Piccolo and the women’s team duo, Livigno native Jole Galli and Trentino’s Andrea Chesi.

They will be joined by coaches Siegmar Klotz and Nicholas Griffani. The next World Cup? As usual, it will begin in Val Thorens, from December 8 to 11, with two qualifying rounds before the two races.
