The FIFA World Cup 2022 has been assigned, not without controversy, Qatar. In light of the torrid climatic conditions of the Middle Eastern state in the summer months, FIFA is considering the possibility of moving'' the'' event'' in a period of the year when temperatures are milder.
The options under consideration are two. The first, made by Sepp Blatter (FIFA President), is to postpone the World Cup in November. Instead Michel Platini (UEFA president) would prefer to anticipate the event in January.

The FIS (alpine skiing, cross country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, snowboard and freestyle) announced that it will ask the other six federations of winter sports included in the Olympic program to sign a unique resolution to officially join forces and take position to prevent displacement of the World Cup in January, 2022.
Today, the FIS has already received the support of the IBU'' (biathlon) and FIL (luge), through their respective presidents Anders Besseberg and Josef Fendt.
FIFA has made it clear that no decision regarding the possible relocation of the World'' in 2022 will be taken before the next World Cup, then threads will unravel between the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015''.
Therefore there is the real possibility that (ISU figure skating, speed skating and short track speed skating), FIBT (bobsleigh and skeleton), IIHF (ice hockey) and WCF (curling), join'' s appeal and can create a real common front against the displacement of the World Cup in January Qataris.
