Shaun White goes hunting for a participation in Tokyo 2020!

He has not officially announced it but by participating in an event over the coming weekend, Shaun White targets the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games.

The online version of Gazzetta dello Sport reports it. In addition to the three Olympic gold medals in the halfpipe (2006, 2010 and 2018), the 31-year-old from San Diego, as well as the infinity of snowboard medals collected at the X-Games, also won five, including two gold, in skateboarding, discipline that will become part of the Olympic program in just two years in the Japanese capital. This weekend the Californian will compete in Vancouver and begin his march to approach the Games, in which if it should be called in the "park", a similar specialty to halfpipe, remember that only the other American Eddie Eagan won a gold both in the summer and winter games, in 1920 in Antwerp in light heavyweight boxing and in 1932 in Lake Placid in the four-man bob. Only another man and three women went on the podium at both the summer and winter games: the Norwegian Jacon Tullin Thams, the German Christa Rothenburger who is the only one to take home the medals in the same year, the Canadian Clara Hughes and the American Lauryn Williams. In the case White entered this very exclusive club, the one in Tokyo will most probably be his last Olympics.
