The 2022 winter season was inaugurated in recent weeks, the calendar of which, for all snow athletes, will revolve around the most awaited moment of the year: the Beijing 2022 Olympics. Last appointment before the Italian edition of Milano Cortina 2026, the Chinese Games will be, at the same time, a point of arrival and a starting point, especially for the representatives of the Livigno Team who have important future ambitions.
Impossible not to start from Michela Moioli, reference point of the blue snowboard cross and reigning Olympic champion, after the Korean triumph four years ago. The Bergamo champion, now at home in the Livigno valleys, began his season in China, on the tracks which, in February, will assign the new title to five circles. An immediately important test bench, which allowed her to test her state of form and also the routes that will see her as a safe protagonist during the Games.
Her goal is to repeat the PyeongChang 2018 feat, to continue building her own sporting legacy with an eye on 2026, when she will be the hostess. Who has already started the season with a bang is Jole Galli, home athlete, who in the first stage of the European Ski Cross Cup, on the snows of Pitztal, in Austria, dominated all the starters, dominating the big final four and immediately proving to be very close to the best of the circuit, so much so as to be confirmed on excellent levels also in CdM. A few months after the definitive change of discipline, Jole's choice proves to be more and more appropriate, and if even for her, the long-term goal remains Milan Cortina, such a rapid rise makes her a dangerous outsider both for the Chinese Games and for the 2022 edition of the World Cup, which began for her just last weekend in Val Thorens
The biathlete Thomas Bormolini and the snowboarder Maurizio Bormolini have already tested their preparation. Even in their case, they look towards the East, with the hope of reaching the top of their physical and mental condition close to the great event. All the other winter athletes of the Livigno Team are also ready to go, looking to the upcoming season as the right opportunity to show off and improve the results of the past year. Eyes on biathlon, with Saverio Zini and Paolo Rodigari immediately in great shape in the Italian Cup, where they collected, respectively, two first and two second places.
Headlights also lit on Giacomo Bormolini in telemark, on snowboard cross with Niccolò Colturi, who over the weekend will face the big names of the table in the World Cup circuit in Cervinia, and on the couple composed of Nicolò Cusini and Veronica Silvestri in cross-country skiing. For the latter, a native of Livigno, born in 2002, there is also the recent entry into the group of the Fiamme Gialle, further confirming its enormous potential. Talent also confirmed by the double podium, a first and a second place, recorded in the Italian Cup last weekend. Finally, it should be noted that before the official start of the season, Livigno also organized a series of training meetings for its athletes, coordinated by various professionals in the sector, with the aim of offering renewed and modern know-how on the theme of sports communication. .
From the correct use of social media to the digital enhancement of the commercial partnership with the locality: the appointments, strongly desired by Luca Moretti, CEO of the Livigno Tourist Promotion Company, were experienced with great participation by all athletes, happy to improve their skills and to feel even more prepared for such an important, busy and above all Olympic season.
