The Franco-Austrian couple triumphed in Ponte di Legno (it is the second foreign success in seven editions). The two blues win among women.

The seventh edition of the Adamello Ski Raid brings with it the second foreign victory in the young history of the prestigious ski mountaineering competition. One of the protagonists of today's success had already trod the first step of the podium in 2013. We are talking about the thirty-seven-year-old French from Areches-Beaufort, William Bon Mardion, on this occasion signed up with the Austrian Jakob Herrmann, thirty-three from Werfenweng.
They were the favorites of the day before and they kept faith with the prediction, reaching the finish line in Ponte di Legno first, while in the women's field, as expected, the Valtellinese team of the Army Sports Center made up of the young Giulia Murada and Giulia Compagnoni prevailed. A formidable edition, like the previous six, organized in a difficult year and with some last-minute defections, on a different route from the traditional one, but rather original and which included 34 km and 3,180 meters in altitude for the men's challenge. , then 30 km and 2,560 meters in altitude for the pink competition.
William Bon Mardion and Jakob Herrmann did the pace from the first ascent towards Passo Tonale and there was nothing for the opponents to do. They remained in command in all four climbs and four descents, carrying their bib number 6 in front of everyone, both at the 2,610 meters of Passo Paradiso, and to the 3,000 meters of Passo Presena and the 2,990 meters of the Passo Tre Denti, managing leadership also in the long downhill swoop of Pisgnanino: 2,000 meters of negative altitude to the finish.
The Franco-Austrian team under the banner of the finish line closed with a time of 3h41''57 ”. The challenge for the remaining steps of the podium was particularly animated. After 12 km of the race, at the change of skins at the end of the descent that led back to Passo Tonale, in the square of honor there were Hoffmann-Verbnjak, then overcome in the long ascent towards Passo Presena from Werner-Anthamatten, which they then kept second place up to Ponte di Legno. Anchored in fourth position, from start to finish, the first Italian couple, made up of Federico Nicolini from Trentino and Andrea Prandi from Valtellina, with their opponents always ahead of them on sight with about a minute of margin.
On the Tre Denti Pass, the Azzurri gave up due to cramps and thought about managing their energies until the finish line, trying to keep the recovery of the experts Pietro Lanfranchi and Filippo Beccari at bay, able on the last ascent to overtake the Swiss Pierre Mettan and Julien Ancay. In the final, therefore, the positions did not change and the chronometric response rewarded the rulers of the day Jakob Herrmann and William Bon Mardion. The Frenchman confirms himself as one of the greatest skialpers ever, having returned to the top step of the podium after the 2013 success achieved together with Mathèo Jacquemod. The winners were ahead of the Swiss Werner Marti and Martin Anthamatten by 10 minutes and 5 seconds and the Austrians Christian Hoffmann and Paul Verbnjak by 12 minutes and 15 seconds.

The female challenge is also without history, with the favorites Giulia Murada and Giulia Compagnoni always setting the pace and managing the advantage over the pursuers, demonstrating a good feeling despite the young age of both and the first experience with the same bib. The two standard bearers of the Army Sports Center finished with a time of 4h11''40 ", preceding by 3''57" the mixed couple formed by the French Lorna Bonnel and the Slovakian Marianna Jagercikova. On the third step of the podium great joy for the two home athletes Corinna Ghirardi and Bianca Balzarini, standard bearer of the organizing company Adamello Ski Team, and able to put the bronze of the day around their necks with a delay of 11''08 "from the winners.
In fourth position then the couple formed by the Italian from Val di Fassa, Giorgia Felicetti, and the Polish Anna Tybor. Satisfaction for the Organizing Committee chaired by Alessandro Mottinelli of the Adamello Ski Team, who strongly wanted to give life to this event despite the many difficulties related to the health emergency. A success with many compliments received by the 160 couples registered representing 12 nations. Now the appointment with the 8th edition is renewed, which will be staged in 2023 (given the biennial frequency) with validity for the prestigious La Grande Course circuit, as well as the World Championship over long distances.
