Mountaineering continues on its way into the official Winter Olympics program.

Eleven months after joining the Olympic Movement and recognition as an Olympic discipline, the International Federation of Ski Mountaineers (ISMF) announced that this sport, which is by no means constantly growing popularity and practitioners, has been included in the program of the Youth Olympic Games Of Lausanne 2020.
The decision was taken by the Executive Committee of the IOC held yesterday in Lausanne. The selected location for the races is Villars-sur-Ollon, Canton Vaud, where individual, sprint and relay teams will be held, with 48 athletes representing all 31 federations belonging to the ISMF.
