The mayors of Foppolo Giuseppe Berera and Valleve Santo Cattaneo, villages in the province of Bergamo, both former directors of the Brembo Super Ski company, ended up under house arrest.

The first two citizens of the two countries of the mountains of Bergamo would have, among other things, designed a system to obtain public funds to the detriment of the Lombardy Region and to make contracts and are also accused of forgery in public documents, abuse of office and bankruptcy fraudulent due to the bankruptcy of the investee company Brembo Super Ski, acting with the complicity of other persons including an employee of the Municipality of Foppolo and the wife of the mayor of Foppolo, it is also the recipient of the precautionary measure of the obligation to submit to the police judicial.
The mayor of Foppolo in the order of the GIP, we read on the local pages of the site of milano.repubblica.it, is called "right arm" of the first citizen of Valleve but is considered by the prosecution the main originator of the criminal project. The two would have falsely reported expenses and investments for a total value of about 16.5 million euros, unduly receiving regional contributions for over 3 million and 290 thousand euros. During the investigations, a transfer of around 700 thousand euros was also discovered from Brembo Super Ski, then bankrupt, to a company in Hong Kong, for alleged research activity of Asian investors.

Mottarone
