Confirmed the appointment (behind closed doors) of 12 December on the "Tondi di Faloria", then Carezza for the first two PGS of the 2020/21 season.

With the relocation of the inaugural stage of Bannoye, in Russia, which will only be staged on February 6-7 at the request of the Russian federation, it will be the Italian snows that will host the start of the parallel snowboard World Cup. The stage of Cortina, with the classic PGS on the "Tondi di Faloria", was in fact officially confirmed for next 12 December, followed on Thursday 17 by the same specialty race in Carezza, for another great classic of the calendar . Italy that will be a sort of home for world snowboarding, given that on December 18-19 there will be two days in Cervinia for snowboard cross, which will then experience its third stage with the great news of Bergamo on January 23-24, to then conclude again with the parallel disciplines in March, in Piancavallo. Cortina will host the CdM for the sixth consecutive year; the team of the Organizing Committee, chaired by Denis Constantini, in recent months has worked in concert with FIS, FISI, the Municipality of Cortina and the Faloria plant company in order to confirm this competitive appointment: since its debut six years ago the races in Cortina have in fact, always recorded a great success, especially among athletes and teams. The magical setting of Faloria and the Dolomites, Unesco Heritage, will be the stage for the performances of the best parallel athletes, with the Azzurri winning protagonists of the specialty and Roland Fischnaller, winner of the 2019/2020 World Cup, who triumphed even a year ago. To make the races even more spectacular the formula of the event takes care of it, with the qualifications of the parallel giant in the afternoon and the finals at night. “The Snowboard Club Cortina is all busy in the preparatory work - explains the president Denis Constantini - The confirmation of the competition calendar arrived from the International Federation has given us the right energy to face these weeks of planning and work. Particular importance is given by everyone to the safety of staff, stakeholders and above all athletes in the face of the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic. For this reason it was decided, by mutual agreement, to organize the event behind closed doors, allowing all of Cortina to be the protagonist in safety of the opening of the winter season which will then culminate in February with the Alpine Ski World Championships, in calendar from 7 to 21 February. The organizing committee is constantly updated by the bodies in charge on the evolution of the spread of the pandemic worldwide and is working with the awareness that further restrictions could also lead to the cancellation of the event under date, but it wants to give a sign of confidence in this particular period ". “The Snowboard World Cup is one of the main sporting events of the winter season - comments the mayor of Cortina, Gianpietro Ghedina - We are happy to be able to propose again this year the races despite the Covid emergency. For this edition, with regret but with a sense of responsibility, we have nevertheless decided to keep the doors of the event closed to the public. However, we are sure that, thanks to the television and media coverage of the races, Cortina will still be able to enter the homes of fans of this sport ”.
