The holder of the Snowboard Cross World Cup, Michela Moioli's great rival, fell last Saturday after the finish of the team event in Montafon, injuring both her ankles. "I will fight".

A shock injury, just after having accomplished the feat of bringing her team to second place in the pairs competition that had closed the World Cup stage in Montafon, where Eva Samkova had obtained "only" a 5th place in the test individual of the day before, while the seasonal opening had been ideal for the Czech champion who won on the Olympic track in Secret Garden.
The winner of the last Snowboard Cross World Cup is in serious danger of not being able to take part in the next Olympic Games in Beijing, after what happened just after crossing the finish line, with the fracture remedied in the tibial head of both joints. Samkova was immediately operated on in Austria on Saturday evening by Dr. Christian Schenk and is waiting to return to Prague; his team is not exposed on the recovery times and the possibility of making it for the assault on the Olympic gold in the race on February 9th, but it will be a very difficult challenge for Michela Moioli's main rival.
"Thanks to the doctors for the super care I received, but also for the way they are hosting me here - said Eva from the hospital - The screws that have been inserted into the ankles will help me in my recovery, but I don't know how long will it take for me to heal. I will certainly fight ”.
“The surgical procedure went well, then a gradual rehabilitation will begin - the words of Tomas Kraus, great head of the Snow Nomads team of which Samkova is a part - The timing? It will take at least a few weeks, Eva will not give up and will come back strong ”.
