It is now known that the Olympic Games do not award points for the World Cup biathlon. The situation, discovered a surprise in the current season, has also upset the Fantabiathlon creating a Gordian knot regulation regarding bonuses overall standings and talent scout.
Analyzing the situation, we followed the saying "verba volant, scripta manent". Therefore we decided to respect the letter of what is written in the rules.
Regarding the overall standings bonus Regulation clearly states that will be assigned according to the classification of the World Cup. So it will be based on the official list published by Ibu'' that does not take into consideration the Sochi 2014.
Wanting to maintain a consistent system it was decided, albeit reluctantly, not to consider the points made in the Olympic Games also for the bonus talent scout. In fact, the regulation is written "in order for the bonus to be awarded, it will be necessary that the biathlete has obtained at least 150 points in the individual events of the World Cup 2013-14."
The prices will vary instead of biathletes after the Olympic Games, as the Regulation states that "the listing of the biathletes will change after each individual race (sprint, individual pursuit, mass start)" without specifying the World Cup.
Basically the nasty surprise of non-value Sochi 2014 for the World Cup will affect only the overall standings and Bonus Bonus talent scout.
