The news had been in the air for a few days, when the official announcement of the cancellation of the World Cup stages on Norwegian soil had arrived: the 2020/2021 Biathlon World Cup finals will be staged on the Swedish track by Ostersund.
This was announced by the IBU, with an official statement, explaining that due to the restrictions in force on the Norwegian territory a solution had to be found quickly enough, in order not to compromise the season finale.
According to what is reported by the international federation, technical athletes and professionals will reach the Swedish location with charter flights directly from Nove Mesto, in the Czech Republic, where twelve races will be staged between 4 and 14 March.
Therefore, the biathlon season will end in Ostersund, from March 16 to 21, on a track very popular with our Dorothea Wierer, where in December 2019 she won the sprint.
