Biathlon: Wierer second in the Pokljuka Pursuit where an impeccable Elvira Oeberg wins

The Swede scores the Sprint - Pursuit double and Dorothea Wierer conquers the third podium of the season by force, forty-sixth in the World Cup. An excellent Sanfilippo, on his return to the World Cup, recovers twenty positions and is twenty-seventh.

The fourth Sprint of the women's Biathlon season is staged in Pokljuka and the results of the previous ones highlight Julia Simon, twice in first place to which is added a third place, firmly with the yellow bib ahead of Elvira Oeberg who in Le Grand Bornand he won the victory. At the start, based on Thursday's Sprint results. it is Elvira who has a treasure of 7 seconds on the transalpine and 19 on Dorothea Wierer. Within 30 seconds there are also Paulina Fialkova and Marketa Davidova while there are 16 biathletes in the space of one minute. Little happens in the first lap where only Paulina Fialkova files a few seconds and arrives on Wierer's tails but the nine o'clock positions do not change. They make no mistake at the first polygon in front, the first to attend the penalty lap is Marketa Davidova and so we go out with Oeberg who precedes Simon by 3.8 seconds, Dorothea is 18 seconds away with Fialokva immediately behind. Marte Roeiseland has already recovered 6 positions and is tenth at 53 seconds. Samuela Comola is not wrong at 2.08.6 while there is an error by Federica Sanfilippo at 2.30.5. No force on the pace in the second lap and the gaps are almost unchanged when you enter the second session on the ground. An error arrives for Julia Simon who finds herself 22 seconds behind Oeberg. Among them Wierer 11 seconds behind the Swede and Fialkova a little further back. The Slovak pairs up with Dorothea and takes charge of dictating the pace and the couple approaches Elvira Oeberg, pushing Julia Simon away. At the first polygon standing there are only 5 seconds between the Italian-Slovakian couple and the Swedish. Fialkova and Wierer are wrong, at the last target, and find themselves 25 seconds behind a perfect Oeberg, with them also Tandrevold with a 15/15 while another mistake brings Julia Simon into fifth position 40.5 seconds from the Swede. Oeberg is 21 seconds ahead of the trio chasing her while Davidova and Simon are at 49. Oeberg makes no mistake and flies towards victory, Fialkova and Simon pay the penalty and Dorothea Wierer finds herself in second position at 19.1 seconds and with 24 seconds to defend over Julia Simon. In the last lap, Elvira Oeberg (0-0-0-0) manages her advantage and arrives at the finish line, for her seventh career victory, with 17.6 seconds ahead of Dorothea Wierer (0-0-1- 0) and 22.4 on Julia Simon (0-1-1-0). Fourth place goes to Paulina Fialkova (0-0-1-1) at 31.0, fifth Davidova (1-0-0-0) at 34.7 and sixth Linn Persson (0-1-0-0) at 36.2. Denise Herrmann (0-1-1-0)= at 37.4 is seventh, eighth at 51.0 is an excellent Marte Roeiseland (0-1-0-0) who returns with the satisfaction of obtaining the best performance in the segment competition. Ingrid Tandrevold (0-0-0-2) is ninth and the Austrian Hauser (0-1-1-0) tenth at 1.01.2. Federica Sanfilippo (1-0-1-0) recovers twenty positions and finishes in twenty-seventh place at 2.51.1; confirms the thirty-ninth square Samuela Comola (0-0-1-0) at 3.44.4.
