Hanna Oberg forfeits the first stage of the new year and gives way to her compatriot with whom she won the Olympic medal in the relay in Beijing. For her it is the sixth stage skipped in seven years

New year, new surprises. A few days after the return to the track for the world of biathlon in Pokljuka from next January 5th to January 8th there are significant absences in the women's sector.
In Sweden, Hanna Oberg, the multiple Olympic and world medalist due to health problems, missed the Slovenian stage. The Swede, not in the best condition, continues her bad season with the exception of the inaugural victory in Konthiolathi's Individual. Numbers in hand, Oberg has always performed well in the Slovenian city with 14 participations in which she took a victory (Mass Start 18/19) and eleven times she finished in the top ten; moreover, the world appointment since last year was not missing when he skipped the blue stage of Anterselva a few weeks before the Beijing Olympic campaign.
In fact, the Swede is also far from the positions that count in which she is ninth ahead of Wierer in the general standings. As a result, Mona Brorsson has been called up for her place by the IBU Cup as she returns to the CDM for the first time since March and will join Stina Nilsson, Johanna Skottheim, Elvira Oberg and Anna Magnusson.
Nothing striking however, as regards the Swedish men's sector made up of almost the entire contingent of Le Grand Bornand led by Sebastian Samuelsson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Jesper Nelin, Peppe Femling, Emil Nykvist and Malta Stefansson. The latter replaces Oskar Brandt.
