The reigning champion of the CdM Marthe Roiseland officially returns to the race at the stroke of the new year in the Pokljuka stage in Slovenia from 5 to 8 January 2023.
Absent in the first three stages of the CdM, the Norwegian biathlete had taken more time than she had expected due to the effects of the shingles that struck her last summer. So Roeiseland is on the squad list together with Ragnhild Femsteinevik, Emilie Kalkenberg, Karoline Knotten, Ida Lien and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold.
"We are very happy and proud to be able to welcome Marte Olsbu Roeiseland back again, and we can't wait to see her in action in Pokljiuka" commented Norwegian biathlon coach Per Arne Botnan. In fact, Roeiseland had given positive signals in the last week with specific training sessions suited to her case and now she is ready to get back on track. A real sigh of relief for the Norwegian national team in which Tandrevold is flying high with an amazing season in which fifth in the general classification of CdM thanks to the good series of individual top ten obtained.
At the expense is Karoline Erdal who is downgraded in the IBU Cup while the return of Tiril Eckhoff is still shrouded in an aura of mystery.
In the women's field, the program in the Slovenian town includes the women's 7.5km sprint on Thursday 5 January and the 10km pursuit on Saturday 7 January, which will be followed by a single mixed relay and a mixed relay on Sunday.
