Behind closed doors. Tuesday was the day of announcements to this effect, regarding the events of the Biathlon World Cup scheduled for January, before the Pokljuka World Championships. After Oberhof, which will experience a double stage replacing Ruhpolding and had already sold thousands of tickets in advance, Anterselva was also forced to announce that the historic South Tyrolean event will not be able to count on the presence of spectators. From 21 to 24 January, therefore, the world championship site will be "empty", after the enormous success of the 2020 world championships. "Even if the 2021 World Cup will be different from previous years and very particular, for us it will be a great pleasure to organize this event as in the past fifty editions - the words of the President of the Organizing Committee, Lorenz Leitgeb - We will respect to the letter all the measures related to Covid-19, to ensure maximum safety for our athletes. It will be a great televised event; in agreement with the President of the Provincial Council, Arno Kompatscher, and with the competent provincial offices, we will organize the competitions without spectators. A precautionary measure, taking into account the current epidemiological situation, to avoid gatherings of people and to protect biathlon enthusiasts and all those who participate in the circuit. We are working on an innovative project - concludes Leitgeb - to be able to bring the feeling of Anterselva home to fans. We will offer every single spectator, even if only digitally, the sensation of following all the races from the front row ".
