From December 12 to 15 will be staged in Annecy-Le Grand Bornand, France, the third leg of the World Cup in 2013 - '14. It is a novelty since the'' system'' of Haute-Savoie has never hosted races of the maximum circuit.

In truth, Le Grand Bornand would have to make its debut in December 2011, however, the organizing committee was forced to raise the white flag because of a lack of snow and the'' event was moved to Hochfilzen.
In this 2013 instead there are no problems whatsoever and therefore the World Cup back on French soil after almost 22 years. In fact, beyond the Alps are not held competitions of the maximum circuit from the 1992 Olympics, played in Les Saisies.
In general, it is competed very little in France, although it is a nation of the first order in the landscape of biathlon.
In the men were held just 7 individual races. Three of them with Olympic value (one in 1968 and two in 1992) and four more in two different stages of the World Cup, always kept in Les Saisies in December 1988 and December 1990.
Women have 10 instead of top-level competitions in France. Compared with men lack the Olympic test of 1968, but at least there are two editions of the World Cup (all times'' female only) held in Chamonix in 1984 and 1988.
Therefore impossible to find ideas from the past. Some athletes who will compete in the Haute Savoie in the next few days were not even born (!) At the time of Albertville 1992.
'' The only international event held so far in Annecy-Le Grand Bornand is a stage of Ibu Cup in March 2011.
