The Austrian ski federation has announced the composition of the national biathlon teams in view of the 2017-'18 Olympic season. There is little news and a great deal of curiosity.

In the male field, the national team remains 4, albeit with a change. Daniel Mesotitsch returns to the highest level, in fact replacing Sven Grossegger's position, which is downgraded to Team A.
This is greatly expanded with respect to the past year as young Patrick Jakob, Michael Trieb and Sebastian Trixl are added. The return to federal cadres of Tobias Eberhard (Team B), Julian's older brother, is reported.
As for the female sector, the national team remains reserved for Lisa Theresa Hauser. There are two changes instead in team A, which has 6 components. Fabienne Hartweger and Christina Rieder replace Susanne Hoffmann and Susanna Kurzthaler.
At the level of curiosity it should be noted that both father and daughter are at the same time part of the federal team! The singular "primacy" belongs to the Mesotitisch family. As said forty-nine, Daniel will be in the national team, while the eleven-year-old Soli is among the team members.
