The IBU has officially awarded the world championships that will follow those of Pokljuka 2021 and Oberhof 2023. A historic first for the Swiss town.

The second time for Nove Mesto, an absolute debut for Lenzerheide.
The Czech Republic and Switzerland will host the biathlon world championships, respectively for the 2024 and 2025 editions, as announced today by the IBU through the online congress. After Pokljuka 2021 and Oberhof 2023, therefore, we will return to Nove Mesto eleven years after the 2013 world championship event. Assignment granted, given that the Czech town was the only candidate left for 2024, while Lenzerheide will experience its first World championship and represents an absolute novelty at the highest levels, given that so far in the Canton of Graubünden the IBU Cup has only been competed and the real test was experienced at the junior and youth world championships last January.
The competition from Minsk-Raubichi, in Belarus, which hosted the 2020 European Championships and is a fixed stage of the IBU Cup, has been beaten.
