In recent days, the WADA has published its annual report regarding the fight against doping. The data refer to'' calendar year 2013 and biathlon one of the winter sports with more tests. Only ice hockey and speed skating have had more controls.

Altogether there are 2,338 tests, 2,244 urine and 94 blood, 817 held by international bodies (Ibu and Wada) and 1,521 from the various national anti-doping agencies, on which it is worthwhile to focus on.
The nation that has done more controls is Russia with 709 (705 urine and blood 4) at 106 followed by Germany (97 and 9) with Canada third in 87 (70 and 17).
In detail, this is the number of inspections carried out by national agencies on the biathletes of the main movements.

These numbers, however, do not tell the whole story, because how is it known key controls for a credible fight against doping are so-called OOC, those carried away from competition, or during the periods in which the wrongdoer should be possible'' to take prohibited substances.

The most striking about the Czech Anti-Doping Committee, in'' arc'' of the whole calendar year, 2013, has never tested its own biathlete away from competition. This does not mean that the Czechs have not undergone surprise checks (the'' Ibu has conducted a total of 217 and 96 Wada, and probably also of the Bohemian and Moravian), but you should take note of a leeway on the part of ' 'Czech agency.
