Tarjei beats Johannes Thingnes in Wiesbaden, the South Tyrolean begins the season on the right foot.

The male race of the City Biathlon in the German town, which followed the women's race with a double blue podium signed by Vittozzi (first) and Wierer (third), also gave indications already very interesting in view of the winter season, with many big of the circuit at the start (despite missing Martin Fourcade, who had seen excellent results at the BlinkFestivalen).
The Boe brothers signed the first double win of the season, but Lukas Hofer made his debut in a very positive way, especially for the performance shown on the roller skis, finishing in 4th place after only training with his teammates during the Norwegian trip.
A race that began immediately in the sign of the winner of the last World Cup and Tarjei, who escaped after the first polygon just in the company of a still immaculate Hofer at the level of errors, before committing two (saving well with the refills) per second polygon and permanently break away from the Norwegians, also reached by a solid Fillon Maillet (meanwhile a fall cuts off Simon Eder).
At that point the fight for the podium began, while Tarjei Boe broke off his brother despite a triple mistake at the third polygon, as Johannes Thingnes was first resumed, then adjusted (30 "the final gap) in the last two shooting challenges, while Hofer papered on the last shot of the third polygon, ended in penalty and straight on 4th and then 5th behind also Rees. The last lap of Lukas, however, already shows an excellent condition, with the German easily jumped and Fillon Maillet who, having arrived at 1''02 "from Tarjei Boe, saves the podium for just 5 seconds, with Rees fifth and Doll sixth.
