The journey of the Italian national curling teams does not stop, in this first phase of the 2022/23 season, when there is now less than a month to go before the important European Championship scheduled in Oestersund, Sweden.
After the Canadian away games, the Italian teams return to compete in international stage tournaments in Europe. The men - with a team, Team Trentino, made up of Joel Retornaz (Fiamme Oro), Amos Mosaner (Aeronautica Militare), Sebastiano Arman (Aeronautica Militare) and Mattia Giovanella (Fiamme Oro), fresh from the amazing adventure at the Grande Tour Challenge Prairie - will compete in Switzerland, in Bern, in the Grand Prix Bern Inter 2022, a competition that Italy has already won three times in history, the last of which in 2019.
Two other teams are also competing between the Azzurri, namely Team Colli (Giacomo Colli, Edoardo Alfonsi, Francesco De Zanna, Alberto Zisa) and Team Ribotta (Fabio Ribotta, Alberto Pimpini, Fabrizio Gallo, Stefano Gilli, Francesco Vigliani) . Following all the Italians, the Technical Director of the Italian national teams, Claudio Pescia: "For the group of Trentino, which has performed well in Canada, the goal is to confirm the form also in the European field against good level teams that we will find again at the Europeans.
For Team Ribotta and Team Colli it is an important opportunity to gain valuable experiences and try to qualify for the playoffs ”.
The women's national team, on the other hand, followed by coach Violetta Caldart, will participate in the Sundbyberg Open, a tournament that will take place in the city of the same name, in Sweden, and which will see eight teams at the start. The tricolor team - formed by the Olympic mixed doubles champion, Stefania Constantini (Fiamme Oro), together with Angela Romei (Fiamme Oro), Marta Lo Deserto (C.C. Dolomiti) and Giulia Zardini Lacedelli (Curling Club Dolomiti), has been included in the Group D together with the Swedes from Team Wrana, the Estonians from Team Kaldvee and the Swiss from Team Hurlimann.
