The third title that will come & agrave; assigned in the European Championships in Bratislava will & agrave; the one of the pairs of art.

Two weeks from & rsquo; start of the continental event, they are enrolled seventeen associations representing twelve countries, three in pi & ugrave; compared to the previous edition. For the third time in history, the Italian colors will be defended by three couples. In addition to the rookies White Manacorda / Niccol & ograve; Macii, returned to skate side by side after beating other roads between spring and summer, the game also will be the new national champions Nicole Della Monica / Matteo Guarise and Valentina Marchei / Ondrej Hotarek, quarters in Stockholm twelve months ago.
Except for third place last year Tarasova / Morozov, not selected by the Russian Federation, & nbsp; does not announce notable absences.
The underdogs are up to the Russians Ksenia Stolbova / Fedor Klimov, rulers of & rsquo; last final of the Grand Prix, and Tatiana Volosozhar / Maxim Trankov, who will return to compete in a Championship ISU exactly two years after the success achieved in the European Championships in Budapest. Do not leave for & ograve; beaten the defending champions Yuko Kavaguti / Alexander Smirnov, the third Russian pair in the race, and rookies Germans Aliona Savchenko / Bruno Massot.
As for the fight for fifth place, the French Vanessa James / Morgan Cipres should have a competitive edge, but the Germans Mari Vartmann / Ruben Blommaert and Italian couples Della Monica / Guarise and Marchei / Hotarek try to take advantage of potential crossings empty.
Manacorda / Macii should not have problems to qualify for the free program and could aspire to a placement between the twelfth and fourteenth position.

FINAL NOTES
* Nine of the seventeen couples registered will take part in the first edition of the European Championship career.
* The couple pi & ugrave; young race, averaging between the various et & agrave; of the two components, & egrave; Italian one formed by the White Manacorda and Niccol & ograve; Macii. The pi & ugrave; Seniors are, however, the Russians Yuko Kavaguti / Alexander Smirnov, who also boast the largest number of holdings.
* The Russians Tatiana Volosozhar / Maxim Trankov were never beaten in the European Championships and have won three consecutive titles between 2012 and 2014.
* Apart Volosozhar / Trankov, only Kavaguti / Smirnov, winners in Tallinn in 2010 and Stockholm in 2015, boast the bulletin board success in continental competition, as well as having filed three other podium finishes. Stolbova / Klimov have, instead, a third place and two second positions.
* The 'Ukrainian-flagged German Aliona Savchenko, paired with former partner Robin Szolkowy, & egrave; climb on the podium seven times, winning on four occasions.
